A stabbing at a social gathering in Easley early Sunday left two people hospitalized and ended with a multi-county chase and an arrest, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded about 3:17 a.m. to the 1300 block of Highland Road and found a person with stab wounds to the upper torso. That person was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital. After a be-on-the-lookout notice went out, Easley police located a vehicle near the scene whose driver matched the suspect description. When officers tried to speak with the driver, the vehicle fled.

The pursuit involved Easley police and Pickens County deputies and crossed into Greenville County, where deputies stopped the car on White Horse Road. The driver was arrested and taken to the Pickens County Detention Center. The driver’s identity was not released.

While serving a search warrant at the Highland Road home, detectives found a second person who had been assaulted. That person was taken to Easley Baptist Hospital. Investigators said the gathering involved large amounts of alcohol and that detectives are working to identify everyone who attended and determine appropriate charges.
