Clemson OL target Sam Walker commits to Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech secured a commitment from 2028 offensive lineman Sam Walker of Central High School in Carrollton, Georgia, less than a day after Walker visited Clemson for Saturday’s game against Miami. He picked Georgia Tech ahead of Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina.

Walker is listed as a 6-foot-4, 320-pound interior lineman and carries a four-star rating from one major recruiting service while grading as a consensus three-star elsewhere. Clemson had ranked among his top schools after offering him following a June high school camp on campus, and he had previously grouped the Tigers with Georgia Tech and South Carolina in a top three before Georgia joined the mix.

Georgia Tech staff members attended Walker’s high school game Friday night, and that visit helped close a recruitment in which the Yellow Jackets had already been a consistent presence. Walker cannot sign until the 2028 cycle, so Clemson can keep recruiting him, but for now one of the program’s key offensive line targets is headed to an ACC rival.
