Clemson lost a Saturday night game inside Memorial Stadium, 41-13, to No. 4 Miami. The home record is now 3-2, and 2-1 in conference play. The visitors are 5-0 and unbeaten in three league games.
Miami came in favored by double digits. The defeat also closed a run of three consecutive wins. Earlier in the year the same group had fallen 51-10 on the road at LSU.
The passing yardage went the other way from the score. Clemson finished with 295 yards through the air and Miami with 227, the same total attached to Miami quarterback Darian Mensah. Freshman Tait Reynolds completed 29 of 44 attempts for 295 yards, three personal highs. Bryant Wesco Jr. caught nine balls for 152 yards, the most he has had in a game. Brown's catches totaled 10, for 76 yards. Clemson's lone touchdown arrived in the fourth quarter on a handoff to Gideon Davidson.
Saturday of next week is empty. The next home date is Oct. 17 against Charleston Southern, again at Memorial Stadium. The kickoff clock and the network have not been announced.
