CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson’s men’s golf team is finishing its fall season in Hawaii, where the Tigers, ranked No. 26, join 19 other schools in a 20-team field at the Ka’anapali Classic on Maui.
Tournament play was moved up to begin Sunday with an 18-hole round on the par-71 Royal Ka’anapali Course, followed by 36 holes on Monday. Any holes left unfinished will be played Tuesday.
Clemson is the only Atlantic Coast Conference program in the event. Eight teams in the field carry national rankings, with No. 8 East Tennessee State the highest, along with No. 12 Georgia, No. 18 Kansas, No. 19 Purdue and No. 22 Oklahoma.
Seven Tigers made the trip, with five counting toward the team score and two more competing on their own. Oscar Valdemar Holm Bredkjær, ranked 23rd nationally, leads the group with a 70.22 stroke average and two top-five finishes this fall. North Carolina transfer Hampton Roberts sits second on the team at 72.00.
This is Clemson’s seventh trip to the tournament. The Tigers won it in 2016 and placed 10th of 20 teams on their last visit in 2023.
