CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson true freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds heads into the second half of the season coming off the best passing game of his young career and a Tiger offense still looking for another gear.
The Arizona native completed 29 of 44 passes for 295 yards in the 41-13 loss to Miami before the open date. He began the season in a reserve role, took over as the starter in Week 3 and has led wins over North Carolina and California. Through five games he has completed 83 of 128 passes for 816 yards and added 61 rushing yards.
Clemson is averaging just 19.4 points per game and has only two passing touchdowns, with a receiving corps led by Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore. Reynolds also spent much of the Miami game trying to avoid pressure.
A second straight 295-yard game would make him the first Clemson quarterback since Cade Klubnik in 2024 to do it in consecutive games.
