Clemson, S.C. — Clemson football returns from its open date with a reshuffled depth chart as the Tigers, 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the ACC, host FCS opponent Charleston Southern at noon Saturday at Memorial Stadium on ACC Network. The game is also Military Appreciation Day.
On the offensive line, Easton Ware has moved to starting right guard and is also the listed backup right tackle to Collin Sadler. On defense, Darien Mayo joins Andy Burburija and Champ Thompson joins Amare Adams as new defensive tackle co-starters, and Kourtney Kelly is set to make his season debut.
London Merritt is now a co-starter with Jahiem Lawson at defensive end, and Auburn transfer Donovan Starr moved into the TIGER role after a season-ending injury to Corian Gipson.
ESPN’s Football Power Index projects a 7-5 regular-season record for Clemson and ranks the Tigers No. 45 nationally. The model gives Clemson a 99% win probability against the Buccaneers and a 56.6% chance against Virginia Tech in the Oct. 24 Homecoming game.
After Charleston Southern, Clemson plays five ACC games in a row before the Palmetto Bowl. Duke is arguably the toughest opponent left on the schedule after losing on the road to Georgia Tech.
