CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson sits near the middle of updated ACC power rankings after an open date in Week 6, landing fifth in one set of rankings and sixth in another as the conference race reshuffles behind Miami.
Miami remains the clear No. 1. Wake Forest holds second after a 38-14 road win at North Carolina State, with SMU, Duke and Pittsburgh also ahead of the Tigers in at least one ranking that places Clemson sixth.
Shakin the Southland slotted Clemson fifth after the open date, noting new Director of Athlete Compensation and Director of Roster Strategy and Analytics roles that will not report to coach Dabo Swinney. Clemson is 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the ACC.
Louisville climbed after a 44-20 win over Florida State, outscoring the Seminoles 44-6 after trailing 14-0. Isaac Brown’s 97-yard touchdown flipped that game. Georgia Tech beat Duke late, and Cal edged Virginia Tech 25-20.
For Clemson, S.C., fans, the midtable rankings reflect a team still fighting for Charlotte after the earlier Miami setback. Week 7 brings Florida State at Miami, Wake Forest at Cal, and Louisville against Syracuse as the ACC chase continues.
