About 81 seconds later, a deflection off a Stanford defender produced an own goal that made it 3-2. Clemson held on the final seven minutes for the ACC road win. The Tigers finished with a 12-11 shot edge and a 5-3 corner advantage. Goalkeeper Gaizka Garcia made two saves for his second win of the season.

Gyan’s goal was his team-leading 10th of the year. Okunlola extended a team-high assist total to seven. Jimenez scored his second goal of the season on the penalty. Stanford fell to 8-3-1 and 1-3-1 in league play and absorbed a third straight home loss.
