ACC Teams’ Week 4 Performances Noted by North Carolina Tar Heels
The North Carolina Tar Heels did not play this weekend but gathered information on other teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Several teams delivered notable performances, including the Miami Hurricanes, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and Duke Blue Devils.
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah completed 23 of 27 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-3 victory against Central Michigan. This season, Mensah has accumulated more touchdowns, with 14, than incompletions, with 12.
Wake Forest holds a 3-1 record through the first four weeks, which includes a 30-27 win over Louisville on Saturday. Gio Lopez, who was North Carolina’s starting quarterback in 2025, transferred to Wake Forest this offseason. During Wake Forest’s strong start, Lopez has recorded 1,112 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception, completing 62.9 percent of his passes.
Duke is currently 4-0, largely due to the performance of running back Nate Sheppard. This season, Sheppard has compiled 644 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 91 attempts, averaging 7.1 yards per carry. He has also added 10 receptions for 70 yards and three touchdowns.
