CLEMSON, S.C. — Goodwill is coming to Clemson for the first time, with a new store and donation center on Tiger Boulevard set to open Tuesday, Oct. 27.
A ribbon cutting will start the day, and the doors at 1051 Tiger Blvd. open to shoppers at 9 a.m. The site sits a little more than two miles from Clemson University.
The building covers 4,000 square feet, but only 1,900 square feet of it is sales floor, giving the shop a smaller, boutique feel than many thrift stores. Racks will carry clothing and housewares, and a drop-off area will take donations.
Shoppers can browse between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. every day except Sunday, when the sales floor is closed. The donation door accepts items between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on those six days, and between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sundays.
The operator, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina, said it had long wanted a Clemson location. Money from sales and donations pays for the nonprofit’s free job training and career programs.
