CLEMSON, S.C. — Anyone wondering how much crime is reported on Clemson University’s campus can now look at the school’s 2026 Security and Fire Safety Report, which campus police have posted online.

The Clemson University Police Department compiles the document each year to comply with the federal Clery Act. It lays out safety policies and procedures along with crime and fire safety statistics, covering crimes reported on campus, in some off-campus buildings or property the university owns or controls, and on public property next to campus.

Federal rules require colleges to get the report to every enrolled student and current employee by Oct. 1 each year. Schools that post it online must send a notice saying where it can be found and what it contains, and must provide a paper copy on request. Clemson says anyone who wants a printed copy can email its director of Clery compliance.

For more current information, campus police also publish a daily crime log, which covers crimes reported within their jurisdiction. A separate yearly report, required for the department’s national accreditation, describes its operations and the previous year’s crime numbers.

The federal statistics cover the three most recent calendar years, so the 2026 edition looks back at past years rather than this fall. Recent incidents show up first in the daily log.
