CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson men’s basketball will likely be without sophomore guard Zac Foster this season after an MRI on Monday, Oct. 12, confirmed he tore the ACL in the same knee again.

Foster first tore the ACL in his right knee in December 2025, an injury that ended his freshman season after 12 games. He had spent roughly nine months working his way back. Clemson said there is no timetable yet for his return.

Head coach Brad Brownell said in a statement released by the program that his heart goes out to Foster, and Foster said he was devastated after working to return this season.

A former Top 100 recruit from Atlanta, Foster averaged 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 18.6 minutes per game off the bench last season and was expected to start.

Freshman guard Harris Reynolds is in line for a bigger role. Clemson is also without starting center Carter Welling, who tore his ACL in March and is not expected back until January at the earliest. The Tigers open the season Nov. 2.
