CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson football is 0-2 against ranked teams after losses to LSU and Miami, and the latest AP Top 25 leaves only a narrow window for another ranked ACC scalp on the remaining schedule.

Only three ACC teams were ranked this week: Miami at No. 4, Wake Forest at No. 21 and SMU at No. 24. Clemson does not play Wake Forest or SMU, and it already faced Miami. Duke dropped out of the Coaches Poll after losing at Georgia Tech but still drew voting points.

The Tigers host FCS Charleston Southern on Saturday at noon before Virginia Tech, a Halloween trip to Florida State, Syracuse, Georgia Tech at home, Duke on the road and South Carolina in Death Valley. ESPN still gives Clemson a path to finish 7-5 if it handles the middle of that slate.

South Carolina climbed in FPI after upsetting Florida but sits 3-3 with a brutal SEC finish, making a ranked Gamecocks visit uncertain. Analysts tracking the resume argue Clemson needs Duke to stabilize so a November trip to Durham still carries weight for Charlotte hopes.

Clemson University’s remaining slate is soft on paper relative to early-season LSU and Miami tests, which is why the open date matters for fixing a No. 97 SP+ offense before Charleston Southern. Miami remains the ACC standard in power rankings while Clemson sits in the next tier.

Whether the Tigers can finish 10-2 and 7-1 in league play still depends on cleaning up sacks and turnovers more than hunting another Top 25 logo, because those logos are scarce on the back half.
