# Clemson football FPI projects 7-5 after Week 6

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson football enters its open date at 3-2 and 2-1 in the ACC with updated ESPN metrics projecting a 7-5 finish and a No. 45 FPI ranking (6.8 rating) ahead of Saturday’s noon homecoming against Charleston Southern on ACC Network.

the Football Power Index gives the Tigers a 99 percent win projection against FCS Charleston Southern. Virginia Tech on Oct. 24 sits at a 56.6 percent Clemson lean, while Florida State on Halloween is projected as a 64.7 percent Seminoles edge in Tallahassee.

Later projections favor Clemson at Syracuse (59.6 percent) and at home against Georgia Tech (73.4 percent). Duke is given a 60.1 percent edge in the Nov. 20 ACC finale in Durham, and South Carolina is favored at 60.5 percent in Death Valley on Nov. 28 after climbing to 28th in FPI.

the SP+ formula is cooler on the Tigers at No. 61 overall, including a No. 97 offense, No. 30 defense and No. 14 special teams unit. The only remaining 2026 Clemson opponents who appeared in the Coaches Poll recently were Miami and LSU, both already played.

An independent ACC power ranking slotted Clemson fifth after Week 6, up from seventh, noting Miami remains first and that Clemson posted open-date staffing news around athlete compensation and roster analytics roles that will not report to the head coach.

Clemson University hosts the Buccaneers this Saturday before Virginia Tech and the Florida State road trip. The metrics disagree on ceiling, but they agree the next stretch starts with a heavy favorite tag against Charleston Southern.
