Adeptus USA plans its first South Carolina wood-products plant in Anderson County, a $215.56 million project expected to create 217 jobs in Honea Path.

The company will occupy a site at 1205 Hamby Road and make value-added pine products such as primed moulding, boards, shiplap and panel grades for building and millwork uses. Operations are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027.

State officials said the Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits and awarded an $850,000 Closing Fund grant to Anderson County for building improvements. Adeptus is taking over a former manufacturing building in the Belton-Honea Path area that had been vacant.

Gov. Henry McMaster said the investment will bring new jobs and opportunity to Anderson County and reflected confidence in the state’s workforce and manufacturing base. Anderson County Councilman Greg Elgin said returning a closed facility to production and adding more than 200 positions is a meaningful local win.

Hiring support during startup is being handled through HTI, with openings posted as roles become available. South Carolina’s timber sector has faced pressure in recent years, and state forestry officials cast the project as a signal that home-grown forest products remain open for business.
