North Carolina Coach Observes Prospects During Off Week
North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick was seen scouting a high school football game in Maryland during his team’s off week. Belichick and his partner, Jordon Hudson, were present in the press box at Archbishop Spalding as the Cavaliers hosted Gilman on a Friday night.
Belichick was reportedly observing several prospects, including three players committed to Power Four schools. Among these were Archbishop Spalding four-star receiver Myles McAfee, who is committed to Maryland, and Archbishop Spalding three-star defensive lineman Brock Frisby, committed to Virginia Tech. Gilman three-star safety Marcus Turpin, committed to Northwestern, was also playing in the game.
This marks Belichick’s second season with the Tar Heels, having been hired ahead of the 2025 season. The team currently holds a 2-1 start after finishing his first year with a 4-8 record. North Carolina’s 2027 class is notably headlined by Bluffton four-star receiver Amare Patterson. The Tar Heels are scheduled to return to the field on October 3 to host the No. 3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
