Clemson Nightclub Cancels Livestreamer Event Over Safety Concerns

ROAR Clemson, a local nightclub, announced Monday, August 24, that it canceled a scheduled event featuring livestreamer Clavicular due to safety concerns and potential threats. The event, part of the livestreamer’s College Tour, was slated for Wednesday, August 26.

ROAR Clemson posted an image across social media at approximately 10 p.m. on Monday, informing students and ticket holders of the cancellation. The post stated that the decision was made after careful consideration, prioritizing the safety and security of guests, staff, and the Clemson community. All tickets purchased for the event will be fully refunded to the original payment method.

Alex Webber, Vice President of ROAR Clemson, explained that the decision was ultimately driven by safety. He noted increased concerns surrounding the event and the necessary security level in the days leading up to it. After discussions with the Clemson Police Department and an internal evaluation, the club determined that canceling was the most responsible course of action for everyone involved. Webber indicated that staff became aware of potential threats and online activity related to the influencer’s appearance in Clemson, though he did not characterize any specific individual as a credible threat. The overall situation contributed to the decision.

The livestreamer, Brandon Peters, known online as Clavicular, is a social media influencer recognized for content focused on physical appearance improvement, often termed looksmaxxing. His content has included controversial practices such as facial bonesmashing, anabolic steroid use, and crystal methamphetamine use. Peters has also been involved in public controversies, including an incident where he hit a man with a Tesla Cybertruck, being filmed singing an antisemitic song, and multiple arrests for drug possession and battery. He was recently sued by a woman alleging sexual battery, claiming she was plied with alcohol before he had sex with her as a minor.

Leading up to the Clemson event, social media discussions among students intensified. While some expressed excitement, others used anonymous internet forums like YikYak to make threats against Peters. Examples of posts included offers of money to throw Clavicular off the roof at ROAR and inquiries about using roofies on him. Following the cancellation, some social media users questioned whether the decision was to protect the community or Peters himself.

The College Tour has faced controversy at other stops. At Binghamton University in New York, student members of the Feminist Collective reportedly protested the event. During an appearance at a Fort Lauderdale bar, Peters’ security was involved in a large physical altercation with multiple college students. As of Tuesday, Peters had not issued a statement regarding the Clemson cancellation. The tour schedule indicates a replacement stop at a restaurant at the University of South Carolina, followed by appearances at the College of Charleston in Conway, and College Station, Texas, among other locations.
